Mario Esparza

Our beloved father and grandfather, Mario Esparza, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 87. Mario was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, on January 22, 1936, to Donaciano and Margarita. Mario married the love of his life, Maria Luisa, in 1956. They were happily married for 65 years until Maria’s passing in 2021. The couple immigrated to the United States in 1962, where they raised their two daughters, Leticia and Oralia.

Mario was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family’s prosperity. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing the sport with friends. He was a dapper man who enjoyed a glass of brandy and traveling with Maria. He loved cheering on the Mexico National Soccer team. Mario was very proud of his family and was excited to become a “Pa” to his 5 grandchildren. Any chance to spend time with his family was important to him.

His children will lovingly remember him: Leticia (Jose Luis) and Oralia; grandchildren: Jose Luis Jr., Jorge Ruben, Jacqueline, Veronica and Vanessa; great-grandchildren: Sophie Josephine and Bernadette Bobbi. As well as the couple’s beloved chihuahua Muñeca.

A Visitation Service will be held on Monday, November 6 at 3:00 p.m., at Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W Van Buren St, Tolleson, AZ 85353

A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, 3630 N 71st Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85033
