January 13, 1936 – December 24, 2025
Mercedes “Mercy” Sanez, beloved mother, nana, great-nana, and faithful servant of God, peacefully went to be with her King in Heaven on December 24, 2025. Born on January 13, 1936, in Panama, Mercy lived a life filled with faith, love, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and to God.
Mercy later made her home in Arizona, settling in Glendale before moving to Tolleson—lovingly known as “Happy Town”—in 1975, where she remained for the rest of her life. She earned her associate degree as a seamstress, a craft that became both her profession and her greatest passion. Mercy worked for E.L. Gruber for 15 years and later dedicated 25 years to Revlon as a machine operator, helping create lipsticks and polishes used throughout Arizona. She retired in 2000, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and pride in everything she did.
A woman of many talents, Mercy loved to dance and sing, but above all, she loved praying and speaking the Word of God. She was a true prayer warrior, known for her deep faith and powerful prayers that touched countless lives. Sewing was her lifelong passion—each stitch a reflection of her love, patience, and creativity.
Mercy was known for her beautiful smile, compassionate heart, and radiant charisma. She carried a light that filled every room she entered. Her presence was unmistakable; even the sound of her voice from another room brought warmth and comfort to all who heard it.
She is survived by her two children, Janice and Tony; her 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Her love and legacy will continue to live on through each generation she cherished so deeply.
Mercy now rejoices in eternal peace, dancing with the angels in paradise. She leaves behind her most beloved scripture, Psalm 23, a reflection of the faith that guided her life and now carries her home.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
