It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon L. Smith, affectionately known to everyone as Nana. Sharon was the heart and soul of her family — a woman whose
laughter, kindness, and boundless compassion touched everyone she met. Nana had a gift for making people feel welcome. She accepted everyone into her life with open arms and an open heart. To know her was to feel loved. She could fix anything — from broken toys to broken hearts — and her sense of humor could brighten even the darkest days. A true nurturer at heart, Nana loved to crochet, share stories, and spend time surrounded by her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting hum of love. She was everyone’s Nana — not just to her own children and grandchildren, but to every child in the neighborhood who found a friend in her gentle spirit. She is survived by her children, her many grandchildren and their spouses, and countless others whose lives were touched by her love. Sharon was endlessly proud of her family and the joy they brought into her life. Nana’s laughter, kindness, and love will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains — reminding us to care for one another, to find joy in the simple things, and to never let sadness overshadow love.
