Rafael Gastelum Perez was born October 01, 1949 in Sinaloa , Mexico. He later moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began his life with his beloved wife Lourdes Cazares. Rafael unexpectedly passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center on March 10th 2021 knowing he was loved. Although we are broken-hearted by the events of this day we find solace in knowing that during this pandemic God has interceded for our family. By the grace of God we were able to be alongside him until his last moments. Rafael was a selfless person, he gave everything for those around him. He was the type of person that would keep little notes in his wallet to remind him about what we all liked. He was always proud of all of his children and grandchildren and although sometimes he didn’t express those feelings we all knew we were accepted by him. We will be saying our final goodbyes on March 23rd where we will give him a proper burial to commemorate his life. We continue to find consolation that he is now resting peacefully in the kingdom of God.
