He was a brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, known for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family.
Ruben “El Matador” was born in the small town of Mesillas Sombrerete Zacatecas, Mexico but raised in Linda Vista, Mexico City, to his loving parents, Bonifacio Hidalgo and Victoria Lopez. He embraced his Mexican heritage and carried the traditions of his hometown throughout his life, always embracing the values of hard work. He then came to the United States in June 1969 to Los Angeles, California. Worked as machinist in the aviation industry and in “sales” as a side hustle.
Our father was a firm but generous man, with a loving heart. He was one of eight siblings, the oldest in a large, loving family. He is survived by his two children: Mayra and Alejandro Hidalgo. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, and his beloved siblings: Beatriz Salazar, Carmen Hidalgo, Lidia Hidalgo, Carlos Hidalgo, and Magdalena Marquez. As our father walked through the gates of heaven, he was reunited with his beloved parents, brother Humberto Hidalgo and sister Gloria Lemus.
One of his favorite past times was attending bullfights and boxing matches, he had a passion for dancing and the love for music. But most importantly he worked hard and he will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
