

Sandra Marie Vega, 54 of Phoenix, Arizona was received into her heavenly home on October 17, 2016 after a valiant and brave battle with a long term illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm faith in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Sandra was born on March 22, 1962 in Ajo, Arizona to Francisco and Guillermina Vega. She attended the Ajo Public Schools and was a proud Red Raider. She married Efren Valenzuela in 1980 from whom she had two children, Daniel and Sarah. After setting roots in Silver City, New Mexico she and her children returned to Phoenix in 2001. She worked for TOCA for over ten years where she left a positive impact on her doctors, colleagues, and patients. The light of her life was her children and two granddaughters. She was immersed in the Catholic faith which gave her the strength she needed to face her battle with cancer with a positive and brave outlook.
She is survived by her parents, Francisco and Guillermina Vega, her son Daniel Valenzuela and his wife Sara, her daughter Sarah Valenzuela, her granddaughters Arianna and Sophia. She is also survived by her brother, Angel Vega and his wife Evelyn, her sister Elva Woods and husband Gordon, and her brother Mario Vega. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The viewing will be held from 5-6 PM on Thursday, 10/20 at Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home followed immediately by the Rosary. The address is 9155 W. Van Buren St. Tolleson, AZ 85353. The mass will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, 10/21 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 13720 W. Thomas Rd. Avondale, AZ 85323. Internment will follow immediately at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery on 99th Avenue and Thomas in Avondale.
Her love, smile, and contagious laughter will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
