Eulogy for Xavier Luis Mendoza
November 27, 2001 – November 3, 2025
Forever 23
My beautiful son, Xavier Luis Mendoza, was born on November 27, 2001, and from the very beginning, he was an angel sent to us — a light so pure and radiant that everyone who met him felt it. Though his body faced many challenges, his spirit was stronger than any storm. His presence was peace, his smile was home, and his love was unconditional.
Xavier taught us what it truly means to love without words. He spoke through his eyes, his smile , and his quiet strength. Every moment with him was sacred — a reminder that joy and courage can live even in fragile places. He showed us that miracles don’t always come in grand gestures; sometimes, they come in the gentle heartbeat of someone who simply is love.
He loved Star Wars — the heroes, the galaxy, the light and dark and all the wonder in between. He loved Comic Con, surrounded by the characters and cosplayers, his imagination soaring among the stars. I like to think that now, in Heaven, he’s there — surrounded by all his favorite heroes, free and joyful, exploring a universe even greater than the one he dreamed of.
Xavier is survived by his father, Luis Mendoza; his mother, Tanisha Rodriguez; and his big brother, Isaiah Klumker. He loved us each in his own special way, and that love will never fade. Though our hearts ache beyond words, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace — whole, free, and watching over us.
He was once an angel on Earth, reminding us daily what love looks like in its purest form. And now, he is an angel in Heaven, watching and waiting for us — for me, for his dad, and for his big brother. I know that one day, we will be together again. Until then, we’ll carry his light in everything we do.
Xavier, my sweet boy — you are forever 23.
You are forever our angel.
And though you’re in Heaven now, you will always live here, in our hearts.
