Michael J. Kerr, 84, of Bayville, NJ, passed away on August 11, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in Maplewood, NJ, until moving to Bayville 23 years ago. Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army. For many years he owned and operated Kerr’s Suburban Plumbing in Maplewood. He was an avid reader and loved fishing and crabbing. Michael served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood. His greatest joy was his family and the time he spent with them.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary Kerr, and his sister Margaret Haggerty. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy to whom he was married 58 wonderful years; his three sons: Peter and wife Jennifer, Michael and wife Teri, and Christopher and wife Jamie; and his daughter Monica Weimer and her fiancé Joe . Michael is also survived by his three sisters: Kathleen McAndrew, Nora “Pat” McCormick, and Eileen Kelly and her husband Jim; his beloved grandchildren: Kristina, Christopher, Robert, Bianca, Matthew, Mickey, Fiona, Sienna and Nina, and his extended family both here and in Ireland. Michael will be dearly missed by all of the people his life has touched.
Visitation will be Friday, August 16th, from 4 to 9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 17th 11AM, at St. Barnabas RC Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville, NJ 08721. Cremation will be private.
