Agnes Leach

Agnes Leach, (nee Machuga) 87, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Agnes was born on November 27, 1935 to Frank and Anna Machuga in Jersey City, NJ, where she lived until moving down the shore in 1997. Agnes retired from Dickinson High School (JCBOE) as a Senior Clerk Typist after 24 years of service.

Agnes was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Gerard, in 1960, whom she held close to her heart all her life. Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her devoted and loving husband of 64 years, Joseph K. Leach, her children, Maryanne Bernardo (Allan), Kathleen Legowski (Timothy), Thomas Leach (Carol Corso) and Joseph K. Leach, Jr. (Aida). She is also survived by 6 adoring grandchildren who were the world to her. Philip J. Corso, Erin Leach (Taylor), Emily Legowski (Conas), Kaitlyn Leach (Andres), Allison Leach (Sergio) and Ashley Leach. Agnes is also survived by her caring brother Frank R. Machuga (Mary), her nephew Frank R. Machuga Jr (Lisa) and niece Carolynn Edmonson (John). Agnes also has 7 wonderful great nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends and neighbors. Agnes was a wonderful woman and loved by all who knew her.

The family would like to give special thanks to Holisticare Hospice, especially Cathy Vakulchik RN, Bernadette Koch, Home Health Aide and their entire team, Gina Turiello, Chaplain John Licitra, Ann Possidel, Lisa & Benji who cared for her at home with competence and compassion and helped her live to the end with dignity and comfort.

A viewing will be on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2pm-6pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
