Alice E. Resh

Alice Elizabeth Resh, age 79, of Berkeley Township, NJ passed away at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ on Monday, December 5, 2022. Alice was born in Newark, NJ on July 20, 1943. She is the daughter of Emma Barrett and Walter V. Whalen. Alice married Robert E. Resh on May 15, 1965. Before his passing in 2014, they lived in Belleville, NJ, West Orange, NJ, and Marlboro, NJ, before retiring to Berkeley Township. 

Alice was an honors graduate from our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Newark, NJ.  She was initially employed in the mortgage services profession and later by  Nifty Products in Marlboro NJ. After retiring to Berkeley Township,  she was employed by Santander Bank  in Manchester NJ. Alice also did volunteer work for the last several years of her life.

Alice is pre deceased by her husband, Robert and also her brother Edward J.  Whalen of Toms River.  She is survived by her two children, Gary E. Resh of Tampa, FL and Tracy L. Aschenbach of Wayne, NJ. In addition to her loving children, she is leaving behind her daughter in law, Jackie Resh, her three beloved grandchildren, Samantha Resh, Jordan Aschenbach, and Kiley Aschenbach; her brother, Walter R.  Whalen of Jackson, NJ. Alice also leaves behind 3 nieces and 2 nephews, as well as 5 grand-nieces and 1 grand-nephew. 

She will be remembered as a caring, concerned, generous and loving mother, grandmother, relative, and friend. Alice was a planner, and a very detailed person, always knowing and doing the right thing for any circumstances.  Her family and friends were the most important thing in her life. Her memory will live on through her family and friends. She is finally reunited with her husband. 

A Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ. 

Inurnment will be on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
