

Anne Jane Muscat, age 76, of Toms River, passed away at the Complete Care Holiday City Care Center on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Born in Jersey City the 3rd of 10 children, her childhood was spent in Rutherford. As an adult she lived in various towns in Ocean and Monmouth Counties including Brick, Toms River, and Freehold before settling once again in Toms River in 2013.Anne Jane earned a BA from Caldwell College and went on to a variety of professions and always centered on the service of others. She worked as a private school teacher, a certified nurses aid at a nursing home, and even operated her own successful house cleaning business for several years. In her later years, she returned to work as an activities director at a local nursing home and volunteered as a care taker to friends in need. She was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at Visitation Church in Brick where she volunteered with the RCIA program.Anne is predeceased by her parents, Kathleen (DeVoursney), and Carl Tomasello; her younger brother John Tomasello, and former husband and father of her 3 children, Louis Barbuscio.Surviving are her children, daughter Pauline Cooperson and her husband Douglass Cooperson, son Dominick Barbuscio, and daughter Joanna Beese and her husband Michael Beese; her 5 grandchildren Joseph and Jack Barbuscio and Abigail, Amelia, and Daniel Cooperson; her partner John Arendt; and her sisters Kathleen Giardella, Theresa Felzenberg, Marguerite Errico, and Adrienne Waddell and brothers Carl, Guy, Christopher, and Dominick Tomasello and many nieces and nephews.Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 9:30 am, at the Church of the Visitation, 730 Lynnwood Avenue, Brick Township, NJ 08723.Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
