Arlene grew up in Jackson, spending her childhood on her parents’ farm. She then moved to Secaucus in the late 1950’s, and continued to reside there with her beloved husband, Alfred, “Smitty,” until they moved to Toms River in 1991. Most recently, she resided at Mira Vie at Toms River, where she continued to enjoy the love and company of her friends and family.
Arlene worked as an Executive Secretary for Schiavone Construction Company in Secaucus. She was also an active member of Secaucus High School’s parent organizations, holding offices in the PTA and Band Parents Association. After her retirement, Arlene and Al spent much of their time cruising cross-country in their motor home, visiting all 50 states and spending many winters at Fun and Sun campground in Texas. She was an avid line dancer, seasoned poker player, loved playing the slots in Atlantic City, and was always up for a game of any kind! Arlene’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
