Barbara Katherine Davis

Barbara K. Davis, 79, of Brick, NJ, passed away on July 4th, 2015, at Ocean Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born and grew up in Newark, NJ. She attended Barringer H.S., where she met the love of her life, Richard E. Davis. They married and raised six children together, living in Newark, Bloomfield, Irvington, and South Orange, before moving to Brick in 1998. Barbara was a Certified Medical Assistant working in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. She retired in 1998 from the practice of Dr. Alvin Schmidt in West Orange, NJ. Barbara loved music and dancing and was always ready for a party. Dancing with the Stars and Yankee Baseball Games were her favorite TV Shows. She loved her family and friends, and was always ready with a helping hand. She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church and loved the group meetings and luncheons with her lady friends.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard E. Davis, and her brother Alfred Ecker. She is survived by her two sons: Richard E. Davis Jr. and his wife Maria, and Jeffrey S. Davis and his wife Maurica; her four daughters: Nancy De Gennero and her husband Sam, Susan Davis-Marsters and her husband Craig, Ruth Di Petrillo and her husband Nick, and Barbara Machynko; her grandchildren: Caterina, Frank, Richie, Nicole, Natalie, Nicholas, and Kelsey; her great-grandchild Crystal and her extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Barbara to Vest a Cop, Brick Twp. Police, 401 Chambersbridge Rd, Brick, NJ 08723 or Brick EMS, 500 Aurora Pl, Brick, NJ 08723.
