OBITUARY

Barbara J. DeWan

May 30, 1947August 28, 2020

Barbara J. DeWan, 73, of Whiting, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at home. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she resided in Lakewood before moving to Whiting in 2005. Barbara was very devoted to the Lord and her faith. She attended Calvary Lighthouse in Lakewood and more recently Harmony Ministries USA in Lakehurst where she attended Bible Study. Barbara enjoyed bowling, the beach, attending Dr. Cheeko music concerts and shopping. She was an avid football and basketball fan. Barbara would light up a room with her sense of humor and her gift to chitchat. She loved spending time with her cherished family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents George and Helen DeWan and her sister Patricia Zanowski. Surviving are her sons Anthony Cole and his wife Lisa and Jason Cole and his wife Christine; her daughters Adrienne Cole and Samantha Cole; two brothers George DeWan II and his wife Carol and Fred DeWan and his wife Sheila; three sisters Eileen Corbran and her husband Harold, Audrey Shack and her husband Harold and Jacqueline DeWan; her grandchildren David Patterson Jr., Nicolette Cole, Terrence Cole-Woodson, Jonas Cole, Isabella Cole, Jason Abel, Matthew Abel, Luke Lopez-Yocius and Albert Lopez-Yocius. She is also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 212 Trenton Rd, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or at www.deborahfoundation.org in memory of Barbara.

To my Cole family,
I hope that you can feel our love and prayers during this time. My deepest apologies for not being able to come. But my fondedest memory about my Aunt is how she spoiled me everytime we came down to visit in Lakewood. She will forever be missed.

To Barbara's family ,sorry to hear of your Mom ,Grandmother and Sister's passing, she was a really nice person, I met Barbara at the Bowling Alley Ocean Lanes, she was on my bowing team we had a lot of fun bowling together, she will be missed by all may she rest in peace. Barbara was always smiling and enjoyed all that she was involved with.
She Loved and was very proud of her family.
Will truly miss her smile and stories especially when seeing her at Joanie’s parties
