Barbara cherished the moments, holidays, and events that brought her immediate and extended family together. She loved Christmas the best and was happiest sharing that time with her loved ones. All were welcome to any of Barb's parties or barbecues through the years; "The more the merrier". Her generosity was her super power. Barbara was an extremely giving person that often gave without having to be asked. Throughout her life, Barb's love and commitment to her four children was most evident to all that knew her. Barbara graduated high school in 1960 from Hatboro Horsham HS in Pennsylvania. She was one of six children to parents, Evelyn and Evan Baker. Barb met Don, a Navy man, in Pennsylvania, and that meeting brought Donald and Barbara to their lives here in New Jersey. Barb wore many hats through the years; wife, mother, grandmother, friend, donut maker, bowler, neighbor, and yes, even soccer coach. Her friends and family will remember her for her wit, laughter, and "occasional" sarcasm.
Barbara was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband, Donald, on November 17th, 1983. Barbara is survived by her beloved children; Donald Jr and Maureen Graham, Stephen and Susan Graham, Debra and Timothy Karwoski, and Susan and James Griffin. Barbara took tremendous pride and joy in the lives of her grandchildren; Rachael, Lauren, Carlos, Anthony, Brianna, Donald III, Carley, Erin, Kevin, Sean, Bailey, Quinn and Jake. She delighted in the stories and pictures of the newest arrivals, her great granddaughters Myha and Arianna Rose. She also leaves behind many wonderful brothers, sisters, and brothers and sisters in law.
Barbara's life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27th from 11am to 3pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Service, 1329 Route 37W, Toms River, NJ. Visitation will be from 11am to 2pm, with a memorial service beginning at 2pm.
Masks are required in the funeral home.
