Barbara J. Winship

On December 10, 2023 Barbara Joan Winship died peacefully at home in her sleep. She was born and raised at the Sunken Branch Blueberry Plantation, Toms River, NJ. and a lifelong resident of Toms River. Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Marie and Alfred Penn, her beloved husband Harley T. Winship , son David T. Winship and her sister Marilynn Casagrande.

Survived by her two sons Karl (Carol) Winship and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Winship and three grandchildren David, Christopher and Melissa and 5 great grandchildren.

A true lover of nature and art, in her 50s she returned to school and earned her Associates degree in fine art and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Barbara was a member of the Ocean County Art Guild, a founding member of the Double Trouble Historical Society and long time local business owner. Her knowledge and ability to interact with art, agriculture and animals of all types was profound. A most loving mother, she would often say the greatest joy in her life was her family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 10:00 am at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. A private committal service will be held on at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River at a later date.
