

Beverly Moffatt Ashwell, age 88, of Seaside Park,passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Community Medical Center in Toms River NJ. She was born in Irvington on June 21, 1924 and grew up in Newark. She graduated from Westside High School in 1942 and Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree. She worked in public health, Rahway Hospital and JFK Memorial Hospital and also taught nursing at Union County technical school. She was part of the Cadet Corp during WW2 in Atlantic City. After her marriage to Richard, they moved to Colonia, where they were longtime residents before retiring to Seaside Park in 1988. She was a volunteer with hospice and Caregivers of Toms River. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Toms River; and a member of the Tri-Boro First Aid, Seaside Park. Predeceased by her husband Richard G. Ashwell and a son Richard G. Ashwell Jr., she is survived by her devoted children: Patricia of Massachusetts, Susan of Maryland, Michael of Alaska and Carol of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by seven loving grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will be Monday, 11:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St. Toms River. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
