Brian Joseph Mergner

Born in Belleville, he also lived in Hazlet, before settling in Jackson over 30 years ago.

Brian retired in 2009 as a maintenance Supervisor from Lucent Technologies, Holmdel after 25 years of service.

After his retirement, he continued to work in maintenance for the Freehold Regional High School District, Freehold for 6 more years.

He was an avid outdoorsman.

He loved fishing, golfing, and the beach.

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Mergner; 4 children, Joseph and his wife Tina, Melissa Kurpiewski and her husband Artur, Scott and his wife Taylor and Michael and his wife Cristin; 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Maya, Alison, Kimberly and Sean; his mother Madeleine Devereux Mergner,

2 brothers, Wayne and his wife Terrie, and Keith and his wife Kelly.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River on Thursday at 11 AM.

Following the Mass, the Mergner family would like you to join them in a Celebration of Life and Memory of Brian at the Cassville Volunteer Fire House, 785 Miller Avenue, Jackson, NJ
