Carl Tschachler

Carl Tschachler, age 87, of Toms River, NJ, passed away at AristaCare at Manchester on Saturday, December 9, 2023.  Born in Sidman, Pennsylvania on December 27, 1935, he lived in Jackson Township before moving to Toms River in 1993.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, stationed in South Korea.  Following a long career with General Motors in Linden, NJ where he worked his way up from painting cars to serving as a general manager, he retired in 1988.  Carl was devoted to his wife and children, ensuring everyone’s needs were met.  In his spare time, Carl loved to garden, fish, play golf, and enjoyed Yahtzee and card games with family and friends. He also spent many years as part of a bowling league in Toms River.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Henrietta (née Roeder) Tschachler; brothers, Clyde Tschachler and Louis Tschachler (Mary Ann); niece, JoAnne.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jean (née Duncan) Tschachler; daughter, Suzanne Miro (John); son, Eric Tschachler (Jennifer); grandson, Matthew Miro; and several nephews.
