Born in Queens, New York, Carol moved to Lindenhurst, New York where she and her husband Robert, married for almost sixty-six years, raised their family. Carol and Robert later moved to Southern California eventually returning to the East Coast, residing in New Jersey for the last twenty-six years.
Carol devoted her life to her family and her home, returning to work once her children had gone out on their own. Carol was a naturally talented and passionate home cook, expressing her love for her immediate and extended family as well as many dear friends by way of her delicious meals. The Fanelli house on Verona Parkway was the place her family and friends wanted to be. It was the fun house. When they moved to California, Carol brought her love of cooking and entertaining out west, hosting and serving a whole new crew of friends. But more than anything, she unconditionally loved her husband of almost 66 years, her three children, and her grandchildren, who will miss her beyond measure.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Robert, her children Robert Scott and his wife Montalynn, Jayne Ann, and Christopher and his wife Kara, her devoted grandchildren Matthew, Madelyn, Grace, and Miles, as well as her many cherished nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
There will be a private memorial gathering at Horizon Funeral Home (1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755) on Friday, March 7, 2025 and a celebration of Carol’s life at a later date.
