

Carole Huntley, age 77, of the Holiday City Berkeley section of Toms River died on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Linden, she lived there and in Elizabeth before moving to Toms River in 1970.She moved to Holiday City 15 years ago.Carole, who was known as the "Indian Princess of Holiday City", was a member of many social clubs including the Variety, Dancing, Women's, Gambler's and Fishing Clubs, and was also a former member of their Irish Club and Red Hat's Society.Prior to her retirement she was a full time working mother of three.She is survived by her children, Jerry Huntley and his wife Beth of Beachwood, Darlene Scarinzi and her husband Richard of Toms River and Dennis Huntley with his wife Susan of Oakhurst; and Carole's significant other, Dick Thorson of Holiday City.Carole is also survived by her five grandchildren, Jeff Huntley, Andrew Scarinzi, Lindsay, Anthony and Bryan Huntley; and her sisters, Eleanor Eliassen, Jacquelyne Belknap and Roberta Sharp.Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 8th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pmand on Wednesday, April 9th from 9am-10am at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River.Entombment will follow immediately at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.The family is requesting memorial donations in Carole Huntley's name be made in lieu of flowers to Holy Name MS Center Foundation in Teaneck, NJ and Virtua Memorial Hospital in Burlington, NJ.
