

Catherine “Kitty” M. Meigh (nee) Knyff of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Born in East Rutherford, NJ on March 10, 1930, to the late Johannes & Sarah Knyff, she was the middle child of two brothers and two sisters. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School. Moving to Rutherford NJ, Kitty was a graduate of St. Mary High School, class of 1948.
While raising three sons with her late husband Raymond (1974), Kitty was employed for many years by Boiling Springs Savings Bank of Rutherford, followed by several years employed by and retiring from S.B. Penick & Co., Lyndhurst, NJ. For a few years she also served as hostess for the Copper Hood Restaurant in Lyndhurst.
Kitty lived in Lyndhurst for almost 60 years, enjoying summers at the Jersey shore with her family in Ocean Gate. She was never without a pet dog or two wherever she went. She enjoyed music and dancing, particularly from the 1940’s, never passing up a jitterbug with her brother John.
Kitty was the devoted mother to the late David Meigh. She is also predeceased by her sister, Johanna (Gertrude) Kutnak and her brother, John Knyff. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Diane), and Richard (Anne) and daughter-in-law Nancy; Grandchildren, Steven (Jamie), Matthew (Abigail), Ryan, Maxwell, and Hayley; Great-grandchildren, Jillian, Michael, Connor, Emilia, and Charlotte; her sister, MaryAnn Knyff; brother, Henry Knyff (Ann) and family, dearest Goddaughter, Patricia (Knyff) Chillemi (Phil), and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral Mass and memorial service yet to be scheduled.
