Corinne Mary Chaplick
December 8, 1941 – November 12, 2020
On November 12, 2020 Corinne Erkoboni Chaplick passed away peacefully after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was 78. A native of New Jersey, Corinne passed away in Centennial, Colorado where she resided for the past 10 years.
Corinne was born in Trenton, New Jersey, the only child of Daniel and Mary Erkoboni. She grew up in Lawrence Township and graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1959. She worked at Smith Kline and French while completing her AA degree at Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ, and the Institute for Defense Analysis upon graduation. Corinne married John S. Chaplick Jr. in 1965 and had two sons, John S. Chaplick III and Scott D. Chaplick. Corinne continued her business education at Ocean County College. An avid tennis player in her mid-thirties, she led the team to the national finals in Waco, Texas in 1979. Corinne was a longtime member of the Toms River Country Club and a founding owner of the Dillon’s Creek Marina in Island Heights. She worked as a travel agent for Fugazi Travel and was the office manager for her husband’s law firm, Kushinski, Gans and Chaplick for many years. Corinne’s passions were her family, gardening, and she always had a roast chicken in the oven if you stopped by on a Sunday afternoon.
Corrine was predeceased by her husband, John in 1996. She is survived by her children John S. Chaplick III and Scott D. Chaplick and their wives, Marion and Camilla; her grandchildren; John S IV and his wife Nebraska of Toms River, NJ, Jackson Scott and Abigale Michelle of Centennial, CO, Daniel Scott and Dyer McEwen of Haddonfield, NJ, and many, many friends.
A private family burial will take place in Toms River where she will be laid to rest with her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations in Corinne’s name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, at www.MichaelJFox.org.
