
Daniel Charles Murphy, 26, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday April 24, 2010, in Toms River. A lifelong resident of Toms River, he graduated from Toms River High School East in 2002 and Montclair State University in 2006. Daniel worked for the Juvenile Justice Commission for the State of New Jersey and for the past three years he served as a dedicated Sheriff's Officer for the Ocean County Sheriff's Department in Toms River. Daniel enjoyed life to the fullest; he cherished time with his family and friends, he adored his fiancée Allie and he loved his time with Bailey, his loyal dog. He also enjoyed outdoor activities including snowboarding, surfing and riding motorcycles.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Cecil and Ruth Wilson and his grandfather, James Murphy. Surviving are his loving parents, Stephen and Barbara Murphy; his beloved sister, Rachel Hay and her husband Patrick; his cherished fiancée, Allie Finegan; his grandmother, Marion Murphy; his aunts and uncles, Scott Wilson, Patricia Murphy, Kathleen and Alan Avery and James and Sherry Murphy; cousins, Michael and Sean Murphy; and many more loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 201,0 at the funeral home. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NJS PBA S&W Fund, 158 Main St. Woodbridge, NJ 07095 or your local ASPCA in Daniel's memory.
