David A. Mathis

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary (Morgan), his children; Kathleen (Paul), Karen, Mary Ellen and Jeanne (Bruce); his grandchildren, Allison (Brandon), Julianne (Matt), Amy (John), Joseph, Valerie (GB), Adrienne (Zach), Melissa, Erin, Patrick, Brian, Laura (Garrett) and great grandchildren; Declan, Ashlyn, Evander and Madeline. Loving brother of John, and brother-in-law of Pat, Peter and Jimmy. He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Al, his son, Joseph and his grandchildren, Lauren and Thomas.

He retired from Pfizer in 1994 and spent many years volunteering with the Toms River Seaport Museum and Catholic Charities. David was a Knight of Columbus and a member of the Toms River Elks. He was an active member of St. Catharine Church of Siena in Seaside Park. Dave loved God and his family. He was a good and faithful servant and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to VNA Hospice in Toms River or a worthy charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. A mass will be held at St. Catharine of Siena in Seaside Park, NJ on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00am followed by a committal service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River, NJ .
