

David J. Meigh of Toms River. NJ passed away on May 6th, 2025, 5 days shy of his 70th birthday. Born in Passaic, NJ to Raymond and Catherine Meigh, he was raised in Lyndhurst, NJ. Dave was a proud graduate of Queen of Peace High School, North Arlington, NJ Class of 1973.
Dave’s first job was as a Ranger at Island Beach State Park, which he loved. He was an avid outdoorsmen, spending many hours hunting and fishing, most often with his brother Rich.
Dave was an incredibly talented artist, musician and craftsman. He worked in fine carpentry for many years. He created acrylic and watercolor paintings and wood carvings. Dave was in the sign business for several years creating hand carved and gold leafed signs. He taught himself to play the violin. Playing Irish music brought him much joy. He was inspired to build a violin himself, which he did. Dave renovated a 100 year old bank barn in Hunterdon County into a beautiful home. He was blessed with so much talent and all who knew him appreciated his gifts and skills.
Dave was able to accomplish so much despite many years of health challenges. He was a cancer survivor whose treatments 50 years ago led to many serious illnesses. He always said he was grateful that the treatments bought him so many years.
Dave is survived by his wife Nancy, his mother Catherine, his brother Richard and his wife Anne and his brother Steven and his wife Diane. Also his nephews Steven, Matthew, Ryan and Maxwell and his niece Hayley. He was predeceased by his father Raymond Meigh. Dave is also survived by many cherished cousins as well as many true and loyal lifetime friends.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held on September 19, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Elisabeth’s Chapel By-The-Sea, 5 Third Avenue, Ortley Beach, NJ.
