

Mr. Simpson was employed in the banking industry throughout his life, he was a Senior Vice President for First National Bank in Toms River, finishing his successful career as an Executive at Wells Fargo in Toms River. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. David was very proud to be an American and was patriotic to the core.
David was a humble, thoughtful, and kind person. Always willing to listen and provide advice when asked. He would always take the time to really care about your concern, issue, or problem…process it and provide loving guidance and suggestions. David really cared for those around him and would do anything to help them. He was a fantastic listener and mentor. He also liked to write poems and leave them around the house for Denise to find.
David was a great carpenter. He loved to work with wood, building some amazing things such as beautiful furniture pieces and model boats. David loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed spending time by the water, taking family and friends out on the boat into the bay for a great time together, spending time cruising through the lagoon on a jet ski, fishing or simply crabbing off the dock. David loved grilling for the family, with a particular fondness for little neck clams and steaks. He really enjoyed food, particularly sweets. He loved donuts and fudge, which would be devoured in minutes of arrival. He also enjoyed playing golf. David prioritized sharing his love, passion, and knowledge of life with his family.
Pop Pop loved spending time with his grandkids. He would love helping wrap their presents (perfectly), putting their toys together (not so perfectly) and watching them play. Amongst many things, he enjoyed teaching them how to bait a line, fish, build things, etc… Pop Pop loved his time with his grandkids, and they loved him back very much.
David was a great husband, Dad and Friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Merle and Louisa and son Lee. David is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Denise, sons, Damon DeAngelis and his wife Kerri and Brent DeAngelis and his wife Natalia. Daughters, Lori Hanneman and her husband Robert and Patricia Brogle and her husband Jeff. Grandchildren, Breckyn, Colin, Austin, Liam and Gianna DeAngelis, Alex and Josh Hanneman, Macayla, Lauren and Jack Brogle, Nicholas and Kimberly Simpson and great-grandson Colten.
