On May 13th 2020 Dennis "Dude" Bonner passed away. For his family and friends who knew and loved him, life will never be the same. He is predeceased by his father Charles Bonner. He leaves behind Debbie, his partner of 42 years and wife for 35 of those years; son Sean, daughter-in-law Eileen, and grandson Parker. He leaves behind his mother Eleanor, his five sisters Patty, Sissy, Alice, Helen and Margaret. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Brother in Laws, and many friends.
The life and times of a human are measured in many ways. For Dennis J Bonner his impact is seen all around. A man who didn't stop producing until his final days, Dennis loved to be working. Whether it was being a Boilermaker for Local 28 for 40 years, or doing projects around the house. The need to stay productive was a fire that burned deep within him.
An eloquent storyteller, Dennis would have a memory or experience for just about any scenario you put in front of him. Always animated and always loud enough for all to hear, he would make you feel like you lived through it with him.
Petroleum was in his blood. A lover of anything with a motor. To witness him break down a car or truck passing by never got old. The water was truly his happy place. He loved the boats he owned over the years. Water skiing, tubing, jumping wakes, or simply dropping anchor to lay in the sun to take it all in. He lived for those things.
Dennis fought a battle with cancer the past year. Those who will remember him will conjure feelings of good times, laughter, and The Grateful Dead being played at maximum volume.
Services are private. A celebration of his life will be planned for the future.
