Diana Lynn Sprague

Born on the 27th of October 1948, in Paterson, NJ to her parents John Peter Sr. and Eva Mae (nee Sloan) Schmidt.

Diana went to Central High School in Paterson, New Jersey and worked at Giannella’s bakery up until she met the love of her life, Leo. They married and had one son Steven Allen Sprague.

Living in Paterson for most of her life; Diana and her family moved to South Jersey where they settled in Beachwood, New Jersey.

She had a love for old movies, oldies music, Crosses, and Angels; going to Poppy Place, spending time with her granddaughter Amanda, she also loved the song “This Magic Moment” which was Leo’s and Her’s love song. Diana’s other favorite song which she played every day was “Love So Beautiful” by Roy Orbison.

Diana is predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo E. Sprague to whom she was married to for 54 years up until his passing on the 27th of April 2022. Her parents John P. and Eva Mae (nee Sloan) Schmidt; her mother-in-law Edith (nee Stickle) Sprague; her father-in-law Leo Sprague Sr; her daughter in law Sandra Carta-Sprague; her sister- in- law Marlene Conklin; her niece Lee Lee, her niece Betty Conklin; and her beloved dog Benji.

Diana is survived by her beloved son, Steven Allen Sprague; her beautiful granddaughter, Amanda; & her dog Mikey.

She is also survived by her sisters’ Barbara, Betty, and Susan; as well as her brothers’ John Jr., James, and Louis; her sisters-in-law Cheryl, Lucy, and Michelle; and her brother-in-law Angelo.

Several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and her great-great nephews and great-great niece whom which all loved her as well as cousins, neighbors, and friends.

She will be forever in our hearts and will be missed as she was a humble, beautiful, loving, and caring Mother, Grandmother and Sister.

We know you’re flying high with the Angels our beautiful Diana and until we meet again, may you rest in peace & love.

Arrangements were entrusted to Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services,1329 Route 37W, Toms River, New Jersey.

The Cremation is private.
