Dolores C. Canonico, 83, of Toms River, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Bey Lea Village, Toms River. She worked for Grand Union, Toms River as a grocery checker for many years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Naomi Circle of Island Heights Methodist Church, and a member of the East Dover Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Born in East Neawrk, Dolores had lived in Union before moving to Toms River in 1969.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael C. Canonico, in 1981. Surviving are a son, Gary Canonico and his wife Stephanie of Toms River; a sister, Patricia Van Volkom of Toms River; and two grandchildren, Kelly and Karen.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
