Edna Rodriguez de Puente

Edna Rodriguez de Puente, 87, passed away Saturday, August 22nd at Sunnyside Manor in Manasquan. Edna was born in Puerto Cortės, Honduras and lived in Guatemala with her family until moving to New York City in 1966. From 1972, she lovingly raised her family with her husband in Toms River and moved in 2001 to the Four Seasons in Lakewood. Edna was loved by all who met her. She loved her children and her grandchildren who brought her the most joy. She had a zest for life, loved to travel and to learn about everyone and everything. Throughout her life Edna was involved in numerous social activities, most passionate about her music and enjoyed playing the keyboard for her family and friends. Edna was an accountant and an executive secretary for most of her life, retiring from Ocean Inc. in Toms River after many years.

Mrs. de Puente is predeceased by her husband Carlos E. Puente in 2005 and her brother Hernan Rodriguez in 2009. Surviving are her three children, Dr. Fernando R. Puente and his wife Carol Yount Puente of Raleigh, N.C.; Marirene Puente-Heisler and her husband, Joseph F. Heisler Jr. of Toms River; and Ana Carolina Sachs and her husband, Dr. William A. Sachs of Little Silver. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Joseph and Jennifer Heisler, Michael Heisler and Montana Mulford, Lauren Puente and Eric Miles, Eric Puente, Alejandro Puente, Adam and Molly Sachs, Christopher Vavra, Lauren Sachs, and Amanda Sachs; two great grandchildren, Bram and Golda Lou Sachs; a brother, Rene Rodriguez, four sisters: Lilia Mendez, Aida Rodriguez, Ofelia Bruno, and Vilma Kochling.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29th, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 685 Hooper Avenue Toms River, N.J. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grace Healthcare Hospice, 105 Fieldcrest Ave. #402, Edison, N.J. 08837. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, N.J.
