

Edward J. Minch Jr., 91, of Whiting, passed away, Monday, July 2, 2012, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, he spent his pre-war days in Bayonne, graduating from Bayonne Technical High School. After the war, he resided in Avenel, NJ for 40 years before moving to Whiting, NJ in 2003. Ed worked for Worthington Pump Corp, East Orange as a precision machinist for 35 years before his retirement in 1984. He was an Army veteran of WW II, serving as a Sergeant with the 367th Field Artillery Division. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Ed's passions in life were saltwater fishing and gardening. When asked how he was doing his response was always "Fine and Dandy."
Surviving are his wife, Lillian of 64 years; two sons, Gordon and his wife Cecelia of Toms River and Ed and his wife Daryl of Califon. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Tori and Jason; and niece, Maryjane Kajon and her husband Frank of Rutherford and their children, Joseph and Jacqueline.
Visiting will be held Thursday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate his life will be held Friday, 9:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, Whiting, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
