

Edwin Francis Schultz, Jr., 87, a 60-year resident of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully in the embrace of his loving wife Shelby Schultz on March 12, 2025. Born at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA on March 19, 1937, Ed graduated from Villanova University in 1960, earned a Master’s Degree from Clarkson College and taught mathematics at Central Regional High School, Bayville, NJ and Ocean County College, Toms River over a 45-year career in education.
During his career and throughout his retirement, Ed enjoyed landscaping his beloved home, attending regular luncheons with high school friends and former colleagues, an occasional Manhattan, watching Villanova basketball, collecting carved duck decoys (at considerable cost to the family estate) and occasionally “Schultzing” individuals deemed in need of a more proper course of action.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Madeline and Edwin F. Schultz, Sr., and sister Barbara Stauffer. Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Shelby; sons Christopher (and his wife Lauren) and Gregory (and his wife Theresa); grandson Nikolaus; brother Donald (and his wife Jane); brother-in-law Wallace Roman (and his wife Cindy); many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Ed will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A mass will occur Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753. A burial will occur Saturday, March 22, 2025 at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
