Elizabeth passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 5th, 2019. She was our Hero - a loving, dedicated, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Elizabeth was born a full century ago on July 2nd, 1919 in DuPont, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ along with her 5 brothers and 4 Sisters and is also where she met her husband of 50 years - Gaza Herczeg in 1954. Elizabeth worked at Komar's Apparel company in Perth Amboy and later at Two Guys Department Store in East Brunswick, NJ where she was a proud member of Local 1262 UFCW- but Elizabeth's greatest joy in life was time with her family and care of her home in Toms River, NJ.
Elizabeth is survived by her 2 children, Richard and Elliot and 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Richard 2nd and Julia and two great grandchildren, Kamren and Maddison. She is also survived by one remaining sibling, Beatrice Roskey, countless nieces and nephews and two spectacular Daughter's in Law Erika and Lorie, whose daily loving care and devotion to Elizabeth made her journey in the last year of her life one of joy, laughter, smiles and grace. Elizabeth was predeceased by husband Gaza, daughter Rita Mae, parents Theresa and Joseph Roskey and five brothers (Joseph, William, Mickey, Frank and Marty) and three sisters (Marge, Irene and Mary).
A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, October 21 at St. Justin Roman Catholic Church in Tom's River, NJ. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will take place at Elizabeth's home on the preceding day - Sunday, October 20th at 1pm. Burial is Private.
