Elizabeth “Betty” A. Koehler, 72, of So. Toms River, NJ, passed away on January 12, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in Bloomfield before moving to So. Toms River in 1970. Betty worked for Toms River Schools as an Aide. She later worked as a Bus Driver for Harnett Transit of Barnegat, NJ. Betty was a Communicant of St. Barnabas RC Church in Bayville, where she taught CCD classes. Going to the beach, painting ceramics, and spending time with her grandchildren, were a few of the many things she loved to do.
Betty was predeceased by her son Warren Koehler in 2008, and her grandson Owen Koehler in 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Warren Koehler; her son Michael Koehler and wife Kate of Forked River; daughter Tracy Van Nortwick and husband Chris of Forked River; five grandchildren: Kayla, Matthew, Jack, Abby, and Ella; and her sister Maryann Kramer of Absecon, NJ.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, at 11 AM, at St. Barnabas RC Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville, NJ 08721. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
