Eric Joseph Flaherty

Eric Joseph Flaherty, 24, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Born in Belleville, he lived in Lacey Twp. before moving to Toms River. Eric attended Lacey High School and Toms River East H.S. and was an all-around athlete. His passions included the beach, fishing, boating and visiting Cattus Island. Eric lived life to the fullest; he was an adventurous traveler, always willing to lend a helping hand, very outgoing and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Eileen Rafferty McLemore, Richard McLemore and Clifford Melesky. Surviving are his caring parents Donna Melesky Flaherty and Anthony Ventra plus Scott A. Flaherty and Stephanie Schwab; his sister Samantha Curtis and husband Matthew; nephews Richard Iacono IV and Jack Anthony Curtis; his Aunts Theresa Melesky, Lynda Harland and husband William, Alison Rietter and husband Chase, Ashley Alvarado and husband Joseph; his Uncle Jeffrey Melesky and wife Sarah; his grandparents Mike and Barbara Flaherty, Susan McLemore and Cheryl Ann Melesky; and many cousins, friends and his best friend Torre the dog.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Cremation will be private.
