Ernest L. Feldman, 92 of the Greenbriar Woodlands section of Toms River, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Germany, Ernest came to the U.S. in 1938. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Ernie met the love of his life, Lore on a soccer field in Washington Heights 75 years ago and just last week joyfully celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary that was planned in detail by Ernie. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Company and was a dedicated member of Congregation B’nai Israel in Toms River. Ernie was a Handyman to everybody, he loved to fix anything. He was an artist, enjoyed golf, hockey, poker and bridge. What he will be most remembered for is his positive attitude and his gift to tell jokes and make people feel special.
He was predeceased by his parents David and Berta Feldman, his twin brother Lou and sister Ruth Keller. Surviving is his devoted wife Lore Feldman; his son David Feldman and his wife Kathy; two daughters Linda Lester and her husband Andrew and Terri Feldman Hodara and her husband Fred; his grandchildren Jill, Benjamin, Ellie, Alex and Alana; and his six cherished great grandchildren Lexi, Jesse, Isabel, Sam, Jack and Liam.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation B’nai Israel, 1488 Old Freehold Rd., Toms River, NJ 08753. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave., Paramus, NJ. Guests will be received following the burial at the home of David Feldman, 1647 Nottingham Way, Mountainside, NJ 07092. Shiva will be observed at the residence of Lore Feldman, 1504 Cloverdale Ct., Toms River, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2 – 5:30 and 7 -9 p.m. each day. Minyan will be at 7:30 p.m. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River is in charge of arrangements.
