September 24, 1944 – May 9, 2025
Eugene Laskoski, 80, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on September 24, 1944, Eugene was the beloved son of Mary (Rogan) Laskoski and Chester Laskoski. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. On May 7, 1965, he married the love of his life, Patricia O'Neill, both from Kearny. They shared nearly four decades of marriage before her untimely passing in 2004.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Laskoski; his daughter, Patricia Cook of Virginia; his son, Stephen Laskoski and his wife, Heather, of New Jersey; and his cherished grandchildren, Robert, Jacob, Cristian, and Sarah.
He spent 35 years with Ingersoll Rand, where he built a career marked by loyalty, dedication, and hard work. Outside of work, he was an avid outdoorsman who found joy and peace in hunting and fishing—lifelong passions that connected him to nature and brought him lasting friendships. He was dedicated to keeping contact with many personal friends from the Briarwood Gun Club. Those friendships impacted him greatly and enhanced his quality of life over the years.
Those who knew Gene will remember him for his steadfast loyalty, quiet strength, and deep love for those closest to him. His presence will be missed, but his legacy lives on in the family and values he so deeply cherished.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19 at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, Convent Station, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Eugene’s memory by making a donation to the charity of your choice.
