

A much-loved mother and grandmother, Fay Black, 89, of Brick NJ, passed away peacefully at 5:30 am January 19, 2025. She bravely confronted and fought dementia. Fay was born February 22nd, 1935 in Jamaica W.I. and migrated to the US in 1970.
She worked for the Seamen's Bank for Savings in Manhattan NY for 15 years before working for lobbying firm R. F. Carroll in the World Trade Center where she retired one year before 9/11. A devout Christian, she dedicated her life to the church and her family. Her kindness was immediately apparent to all who met Fay, her personal physician of 10 years once commented that she was the most selfless person he ever had the privilege to meet, he made sure that Fay had his personal contact information to call with any medical concerns around the clock. She moved to the Complete Care at Shorrock Gardens long-term facility in November of 2019 and resided there for 5 years. Fay is known by staff, residents and visitors alike as the lady who sings, her resonant and warm soprano voice has provided comfort and enjoyment for many.
She is survived by two children Andrea Sosnoski and Garfield Black, daughter and son-in-law, Veronica Black and Greg Sosnoski, grandchildren Dale, Matthew, Christina, Stephanie, and Alyssa. Great grandchildren Yonas, Eliyas, Jace and a host of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved.
