

Mr. Itak was born July 7, 1927 in Newark, NJ. As a young child his family moved to Harlem, NY where he resided through his high school graduation. After graduation he enlisted in the military and served his country honorably during World War II as a Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Itak spent his work career as a route salesman for PepsiCo and as a District Manager for the 7-Up Bottling Company.
He and his wife, the former Mary Reddy, were married on April 22, 1961 at Saint Thomas Church in Bloomfield, NJ. At that time they moved to Point Pleasant, NJ where they resided for the next forty years. After retiring Mr. Itak moved to Toms River, NJ.
For the last year he has lovingly tended to his wife, who has been bed-ridden after suffering a series of strokes.
His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grand children.
Mr. Itak is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary.
Also surviving are his son & daughter-in-law Stephen & Jeanne Itak, Princeton Junction, NJ; son & daughter-in-law Frank & Karina Itak, Toms River, NJ; son John Itak of Toms River, NJ; and daughter and son-in-law Susan and Thomas Levash of Somerville, NJ. Mr. Itak also leaves behind five grandchildren: Kelsey, Sara, Timothy, Keyla and Esteban.
Mr. Itak was pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Bertha as well as brothers Joseph and Michael and sister Gertrude Decker.
Private interment services will be held at Ocean County Memorial Park.
