

George Lee Weston III, age 69, of South Toms River, passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Born in Brielle, NJ, he grew up in the Manitou Park section of Berkeley Township before moving to South Toms River in 1983.
George, affectionately known to most as Poncho, was an avid lover of his “Woman”, kids, music, fishing, the NY Giants and Mets.
His big personality and love of music is what drove him to become a DJ, keeping parties and clubs jumping from the 70’s all the way to the 90’s.
Poncho met the love of his life in 1979, married in 1989 and would go on to have 3 wonderful children in addition to his first-born son.
Aside from being inducted into Central Regional High School Hall of Fame with his Football team, he worked several long-term jobs, including Reep Inc. and Lowes, until settling down at the Ocean County Board of Social Services from which he retired in 2021.
Poncho is predeceased by his father, George Lee Weston II; his mother, Catherine; his son, Demore Lee; and his brother, Darryl.
He is Survived by his wife, Dorothy; his sisters, Janice and Angie; his brother, David; his children, Lauren, Christina, Joseph and Anthony; his grandchildren, Justin, Maddox, Kyla, Nico, and a host of In Laws, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ.
