Born in New York City, Gerard worked as an X-ray technician at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia prior to his retirement. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of the Jehovah's Witnesses and belonged to the Toms River congregation.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ida Rhines Clendenin; his children, Gerard Jr., Dawn, Shenice, Troy, Terrance, and Stephanie; and his cherished grandchildren, Ariel, A.J., Avery, and Penelope. He also leaves behind his siblings, Murray, Wayne, Christopher, John, and Theresa, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ.
A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home at 12 noon.
Burial will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park Association, Silverton Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753, on December 23, 2025.
