

Gerard V. Manganiello, 88, of Manchester, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Linden before moving to Manchester 11 years ago. Gerard was employed by Jersey City Public Works as a senior electrician for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He proudly served in the Air Force during World War II. Gerard was a member of St. John's Holy Name Society in Clark. He was an avid golfer, and he loved spending summers at the beach house with family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sophie F. Manganiello, in 2009. Surviving are his sons, Bruce Manganiello and his wife Fernanda, Thomas Manganiello and his wife Sharon, and Gerald Manganiello and his wife Colleen; his brothers, Thomas and Anthony Manganiello; his sister, Katie Jordan; and eight cherished grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15 at St. John's Church, Lakehurst. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Medical Center Foundation, 99 Highway 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755, in Gerard's memory.
