Guido Rocco Piccolo

Guido Rocco Piccolo, 93, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Long Island City, NY, Guido moved to Toms River in 1966. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate Launching & Recovery Chief Petty Officer after proudly serving from 1946 to 1968. Guido participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis Naval Blockade in 1962. After his retirement from the Navy, Guido graduated from Ocean County College in 1970 and received his Bachelor’s degree from the College of New Jersey in 1972. He then began his 20 year career as a high school teacher at Ramsey High School for a year and Pleasantville High School for 19 years. Guido loved cooking and enjoyed travelling. He was a beloved husband and father and will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his son Anthony Piccolo. Surviving are his beloved wife Kay of 68 years; his son Rocco Piccolo; his daughter Teresa Piccolo; two grandchildren Christina Elliot and James Elliot; and three great grandchildren Victoria, Ethan and Devin Elliot.

Private graveside services will be held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River is in charge of arrangements.
