

Heinz Carl Kappe, 94, of Manahawkin, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at home. He worked for the State of New Jersey as a manager of the Unemployment Office, Newark for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Caldwell Old Guard, member and past treasurer of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, North Caldwell. Born in Germany, Heinz lived in West Caldwell before moving to Manahawkin in 2002.
He was predeceased by his wife, Minnie Kappe, in 1996. Surviving are three sons, Karl of Salt Lake City, Utah, Roger and his wife Barbara of Tinton Falls, and Richard and his wife Karen of Manahawkin; and five grandchildren, Jenelle, Roger Jr., Thomas, Matthew, and Nicholas.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice, or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
