

Holmes Cleveland Crawford Jr., 79, of Toms River, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Born in Middletown Township, he lived in Navesink and Leonardo before moving to Toms River 41 years ago. Mr. Crawford started his career as a banker, then worked in construction and retired as a car salesman. He was a volunteer fireman with Middletown Twp Fire Co. Mr. Crawford was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 338 in Leonardo and the Rifle Drill Team. He attended St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Whiting, and he was an avid Blue Claws, Yankee and Giants fan.
He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and a brother. Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years Karen Brett Crawford; his children, Debbie Russell and her husband Terry of NC, Heather Duym and her husband Mark of Bass River Twp., and Corey Crawford and his wife Lisa of Toms River; and three cherished grandchildren, Danny and Catie Russell and Tori Duym.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 180 Route 539, Whiting, NJ. 08759. Cremation will be private.
