

Howard H. McCallen, Jr. age 84 of Seaside Park, NJ went to be with our Lord on July 16, 2016. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ he had lived in East Brunswick before moving to Seaside Park, 22 years ago. Howard enjoyed traveling, playing golf and hunting. He was a 1000 pt. basketball scorer at Woodbridge High School before attending and graduating from the College at William and Mary, where he also played basketball. After service in the U.S Army, he built a successful career as a District Manager for Public Service Electric & Gas Co., for 37 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lavallette, NJ, Randell Knife Society, and American Blade Smith Society. He was also a member of the Knife Collector’s Association, Arkansas Knife Association, and the William Moran Jr. Museum and Foundation INC.
Surviving is his loving wife Sally Springer of 58 years; his three sons, Howard H. McCallen III and his wife Rose, Kevin McCallen and his wife Susan and KC McCallen. Also surviving are his four loving grandchildren: Howard IV, Amanda, Kevin and Jennifer and his great granddaughter Mackayla.
Visiting will be Tuesday, July 19th 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home; 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 20th 11AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 1801 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ, 08735. Cremation will be private.
