Nacio en El Salvador en la villa de Comasagua departamento de la Libertad.
Maestra de profesión en el aňo setenta y dos migra a los Estados Unidos de América donde de nuevo se graduó de maestra de la universidad Long Island para luego continuar su doctorado en la universidad de Nueva York obteniendo su certificado en admnistración, ciencias y educacion bilingűe que le permitierón desempeňar el cargo de maestro de biología y posteriormente supervisora del departamento de ciencias de la escuela superior Barringer en la ciudad de Newark New Jersey.
Además obtuvo doce certificados en diferentes especialidades que le permitierón enseňar tanto en Nueva York como en Nueva Jersey, post grados en la Universidad de San Pedro Montes de Oca en San José Costa Rica con una beca otorgada por la fundación Ford. Graduada de Mercy College, cursos doctorales de literatura en la ciudad de Nueva York (CUNY) y de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares (Espaňa) y de la Complutense de Madrid.
Maestra adjunta enseňando administración en Fairleigh Dickinson University, Nueva Jersey, profesora adjunta de espaňol en Montclair University en Nueva Jersey.
Poeta y cuentista con setenta y nueve libros en su haber la mayoria inéditos, dentro de los que cabe mencionar, “Andres encontro una botija”, “Genaro el del mesón San Judas”, “La tierra de los hacendados”, “A mi madre” entre otros.
Dentro de sus libros publicados destacan “Corazón de fuego”, “Raza ofendida”, “Las alas de un ángel”, “Homenaje a Monsenor Romero”, “Madre flor del universo”, “Remembranzas”, “Radiografia de los inmigrantes”.
Fué presidente de la sociedad de poetas y escritores latinoaméricanos de Newark New Jersey, miembro del circulo de poetas y escritores iberoaméricanos (CEPI).
Todo lo anterior, logros en su vida profesional pero en su vida personal Hylda se destaco como un bondadoso ser humano, resuelta, carismatica, visionaria, incansable de las causas Justas (sociales) siempre anteponiendo el bienestar de los demás antes que el suyo propio.
Mujer que esparcio afecto a sus conjéneres y recibio a cambio mucha admiración y respeto.
Le sobreviven cuatro hijos, Mayin, Danilo, Alcira, Joseph, once nietos y tres bisnietos.
DIOS reciba su alma con jǔbilo en su santo seno.

HYLDA MILLAN
She was born in El Salvador in the town of Comasagua, department of La Libertad.
A teacher by profession, in 1972 she migrated to the United States of America where she again graduated as a teacher from Long Island University and then continued her doctorate at the University of New York obtaining her certificate in administration, science and bilingual education that allowed her to serve as a biology teacher and later as a science department supervisor at Barringer High School in the city of Newark, New Jersey.
She also obtained twelve certificates in different specialties that allowed her to teach both in New York and New Jersey, postgraduate degrees at the University of San Pedro Montes de Oca in San Jose Costa Rica with a scholarship granted by the Ford Foundation. Graduated from Mercy College, doctoral courses in literature in New York City (CUNY) and from the University of Alcala de Henares (Spain) and the Complutense University of Madrid.
She was also an associate professor teaching administration at Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey, and associate professor of Spanish at Montclair University in New Jersey.
She was a Poet and storyteller with seventy-nine books to her credit, most of them unpublished, some of which are "Andres found a jar", "Genaro el del meson San Judas", "The land of the landowners", "To my mother " among others.
Among her published books are "Heart of fire", "Offended race", "The wings of an angel", "Tribute to Monsignor Romero", "Mother flower of the universe", "Remembrances", "X-ray of immigrants".
She was president of the Society of Latin American Poets and Writers of Newark, New Jersey, and a member of the Circle of Latin American Poets and Writers (CEPI).
All of the above, achievements in her professional life but in her personal life, Hylda stood out as a kind human being, resolute, charismatic, visionary, tireless aid of social work, and always putting the well-being of others before her own.
She was a woman who spread affection to her peers and received much admiration and respect in return.
She is survived by four children, Mayin, Danilo, Alcira, Joseph, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
