Ileane Strauss

Ileane Strauss, 95, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Bronx, NY. She and her late husband Bernard owned and operated Burger Towne in Beachwood, NJ. Ileana worked at Trilco Lumber, as a contractor at the Lakehurst Naval Base and at the Toms River Schools. She was also a poll worker on election day for many years. Mrs. Strauss was an active member in the auxiliary Jewish War Veterans and Congregation B’nai Israel Sisterhood. She enjoyed playing mahjong for many years and loved reading the newspaper. She was a very loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was also a good friend to all and will missed by them and her family.

Ileane is predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Bernard, her parents, Louis and Sarah Ringlein, and her sister, Renee.

She is survived by her son Lyle Strauss and his wife Debra, and her three grandchildren: Mandy Strauss, Rebecca Strauss, and Tamara Scoville. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Medical Center and Complete Care at Bea Lea for the excellent care she received.

Gathering will be held on Monday, June 26th, at 12:30pm with a Prayer Service at 1pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Graveside service and burial will follow at the Toms River Jewish Community Cemetery, 1130 West Whitty Road, Toms River, NJ

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
