
Labor Leader Dies
James H. Fitzgerald of Toms River, NJ, formally of Jersey City, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015.
Jim Fitzgerald was a member of IBEW Local 1470 for forty-five years. He held the position of President of the Local for thirteen years and was employed by Western Electric, Kearny, NJ and AT&T in Clark, NJ.
Jim helped many individuals and had deep compassion and understanding for those in need. He loved his family and friends, and cherished his Irish heritage.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Fitzgerald, brothers John and Robert, and sister Mary Kathleen Murphy of Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland. Surviving are his cherished wife and best friend Peggy, beloved and devoted brother Edward, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ. The interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Road, and Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Seeing Eye Inc., 10 Washington Road, Morristown, NJ 07960.
